Izzy update! Thank you all for the messages of lov Izzy update! Thank you all for the messages of love and support! The surgery went really well and it’s looking like good news 😄 Although we’re being cautiously optimistic, the new implant is responding a lot more typically to what the docs are used to seeing compared to the old one which means that the old device was most likely the problem, not the nerve between her inner ear and brain. With the last one she could only “feel” the sound but now she can hear pitch difference. Her brain still needs to learn how to interpret the signals so we’re doing lots of exercises and rehab but looks like all the good karma sent by you lot worked 😄 Big thank you to the brilliant Dr. Voelker at @pacificneuro ❤️ Sadly no we’re not back in Hawaii just thought it was a cute pic 😭🤣
So unfortunately, the thing that never ever happen So unfortunately, the thing that never ever happens, the one in a million shot, happened to Izzy. Her cochlear implant 2 years ago never worked. She was born with about 20% in her right ear and a perfect left ear. When she was born, it wasn’t FDA approved to get a cochlear implant for unilateral hearing loss (one side). It was finally approved however so we booked in 2 years ago. Unfortunately it didn’t work and we we’ve been trying to figure this out for the last 2 years so now we’ve implanted again with a new device. It’s a pretty brutal procedure on her but it’s all we can do. So let’s all hope this works for our little Izzy, because if it doesn’t, then there’s no restoring even the 20% she had before😥. She’s a talented musician and loves music which makes this all the more difficult. If you drop a message on here I’ll def pass it on to her! ❤️ (bonus pic as her as Wednesday last year 😂🖤) EDIT! Thank you for all the love!! She was amazed to see so many comments 🙂 The surgery went well & she's recovering well. We switch the implant on on Wednesday. It can be normal to not work that well at first so it may be hard to say whether it's successful or not on Wednesday, but it should be obvious if it's much better than the last one 🤞🏻

😭I wish I could be in Aus for this moment!! It’s always been a goal to collab with Aussie artists and have an impact on the local scene. These 2 were just on Nova and if I heard them back to back like I’ve been hearing in my studio for the last yr or so I would’ve lost it 😂 I couldn’t be happier for these 2 artists who are both immensely talented but also awesome humans. @starley featuring on @Jolyonpetch ’s record with “I Just Need Your Touch” which I recorded and vocal produced , 3 weeks @ #1 on the Aria club charts congrats! & @illyal with “Like You” which I recorded, vocal produced, played guitar (chorus not the acoustic at the top) and mixed. Black Summer @serenvaun also co-produced this record, adding grimey synths and edits and vocal chops. For my nerds, very different sounding vocals but both on my same chain, 251 > BAE 1073 > 1176 > derresser.
